These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "Client", "Customer", "User", "Consignor" or "Consignee") and Packers and Movers in Chennai ("Company", "We", "Our", or "Us"), having its registered head office at Senneerkuppam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu - 600056.

By visiting our website (https://packersmoversinchennai.in), requesting a price quotation, paying a booking deposit, or allowing our moving crew to pack or load goods, you explicitly accept all terms outlined on this page.

The Company provides professional end-to-end relocation, logistics, and warehousing solutions, which include:

• Local Shifting in Chennai: Residential household shifting across all localities and suburban zones within Chennai and the CMA (Chennai Metropolitan Area).
• Domestic Intercity Moving: Household goods and commercial office transport from Chennai to all Indian states and metro hubs.
• Corporate & Office Relocation: Specialized shifting of IT workstations, office furniture, server racks, records, and commercial equipment.
• Vehicle Transportation: Safe door-to-door two-wheeler (bike/scooter) and four-wheeler (car) carrier services via hydraulic closed car carriers.
• Warehouse & Goods Storage: Short-term and long-term secure, pest-controlled storage facilities in Chennai.

All moving quotations provided by the Company (whether via phone, WhatsApp, email, or formal PDF) are calculated based on the precise inventory and conditions declared during the pre-move assessment:

• Survey Accuracy: Estimates are formulated based on the item list, distance in kilometers, floor levels at origin and destination, elevator availability, vehicle size needed, and packaging material grades required (e.g. bubble wrap, corrugated sheets, stretch film, heavy-duty cartons).
• Quotation Validity: Written quotations remain valid for 15 days from the date of issuance, subject to vehicle and crew availability for the chosen move date.
• Binding Inventory: Only items explicitly recorded in the survey sheet or confirmed moving checklist are covered under the initial quotation.

While we pride ourselves on zero hidden fees, the final invoice may adjust under specific on-ground circumstances beyond our initial estimate:

• Additional Unlisted Items: Any furniture, cartons, or appliances added on the moving day that were not included in the original survey will incur extra packing and freight charges.
• Staircase & Long-Carry Surcharges: If the building lacks a working elevator, or if society rules forbid truck parking within 50 meters of the main entrance (requiring manual long-carry), reasonable labor surcharges will apply.
• Specialized Dismantling / Carpentry: Standard bed and table dismantling is included. Complex modular wardrobes, wall-mounted AC uninstallation, hydraulic beds, or heavy chandelier handling requiring third-party technicians will be charged separately at actuals.
• Statutory & Transit Tolls: Intercity toll plaza charges, state entry permits, green tax, parking fees, and applicable GST (Goods and Services Tax) are charged as per government regulations.

To ensure transparent financial transactions and guarantee vehicle allocation, the following payment schedule applies:

• Booking Token Advance: A nominal advance payment (10%–20% of estimated quotation) is required to lock in the shifting date, reserve the moving truck, and assign the packing crew.
• Loading Milestone Payment: For local Chennai moves, the remaining balance is payable upon unloading completion. For intercity domestic moves, 80% of the total amount must be cleared upon completion of loading and issuance of the Consignment Note (Bilty), with the final 20% payable prior to final unloading at the destination.
• Approved Payment Modes: Payments can be made via UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), IMPS/NEFT Bank Transfer, Cash, or Credit/Debit Cards. Official receipts and GST invoices are issued upon full settlement.
• Right of Lien on Goods: As per Indian logistics law (Carriers Act), the Company reserves a legal lien over the consignment in the event of customer non-payment or disputed default until all legitimate service charges are settled in full.

The Customer further agrees to:

• Society Permissions & Gate Passes: Secure all necessary move-in/move-out NOCs, lift reservations, and security permissions from residential welfare associations (RWA) or society managers prior to crew arrival.
• Appliance Preparation: Completely defrost refrigerators at least 24 hours prior to packing. Disconnect washing machine hoses and drain all residual water.
• Vehicle Preparation: Empty fuel tanks of two-wheelers/cars to approximately 1 to 2 liters (minimum needed for loading/unloading) for safety compliance during transit.
• Inventory Verification: Be physically present (or designate an authorized representative) during packing, loading, and unloading to inspect goods and cross-check the physical Inventory Sheet / Bilty.

In accordance with Indian Motor Vehicles Act and safety regulations, the Company strictly prohibits the packing and transportation of hazardous items:

• Flammable & Combustible Substances: Filled LPG cylinders, petrol, kerosene, diesel, paint thinners, fireworks, matches, and lighter fluid.
• Hazardous Chemicals & Corrosives: Industrial acids, pressurized aerosol cans, toxic chemicals, car batteries with liquid acid, and bio-hazardous materials.
• Contraband & Illegal Items: Unlicensed firearms, ammunition, narcotics, banned wildlife products, and illegal goods prohibited under Indian law.
• Perishables & Living Organisms: Perishable food products prone to spoilage during long transit, and live animals/plants (unless customized climate-controlled transport is explicitly contracted).

The Customer shall be solely held legally and financially liable for any damage, truck impoundment, or penalties resulting from concealment of prohibited goods.

To safeguard against unforeseen highway accidents, overturns, fire, or theft during intercity transit, we strongly recommend opting for comprehensive goods transit insurance:

• Insurance Underwriting: Transit insurance policies are issued directly through authorized national general insurance firms (e.g. National Insurance, Oriental Insurance, IFFCO-Tokio). The premium is billed based on customer-declared value (standard rate: 3% of declared consignment value).
• Claim Notification Window: In the rare event of visible exterior transit damage or missing packages, the customer MUST record the damage on the Delivery Receipt before sign-off and notify our claims desk in writing within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographic/video proof.
• Liability Exclusions: Insurance and company liability do not cover:
  • Self-packed boxes or carton contents packed by the customer without our supervision.
  • Internal electronic/mechanical derangement of TVs, washing machines, or refrigerators unless accompanied by visible external physical impact damage.
  • Pre-existing cracks, scratches, structural weakness, or normal wear and tear noted prior to packing.
  • Perishable items, plants, or undeclared glassware/pottery packed without professional protective crates.

We understand that relocation schedules can change. Our cancellation and rescheduling guidelines are designed to be fair and accommodating:

• Free Rescheduling: You can reschedule your shifting date without any penalty by notifying our team at least 24 hours prior for local Chennai moves, and 48 hours prior for intercity moves (subject to slot availability).
• Cancellation Before Dispatch: If a booking is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled packing time, 100% of the token advance is refunded within 3 to 5 business days.
• Late Cancellation / Same-Day Cancellation: If cancellation occurs after the truck and packing crew have been dispatched to the pickup site, a minimum trip mobilization fee (typically Rs. 1,000 - Rs. 2,000 depending on vehicle size) will be deducted to compensate the moving crew.

While our drivers maintain optimal transit speeds and adhere to pre-agreed timelines, estimated delivery dates for intercity moves are subject to highway conditions:

• Force Majeure Events: The Company shall not be held liable for transit delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable human control, including but not limited to severe cyclones, urban flooding, road blockades, highway landslides, national/state strikes (bandhs), interstate border check-post congestion, or unexpected mechanical breakdowns.
• Timely Updates: In case of unavoidable transit delays, our logistics coordinator will maintain active communication with the customer, providing live GPS coordinates and revised arrival estimates.
