Coonoor
Coonoor is the first big town you hit after the ghat, so it is usually the quickest delivery from Chennai. Roads around Bedford, Sims Park and Upper Coonoor are narrow and winding. A lot of the cottages here are below road level with long steps – please tell us about this at the time of survey so the quote is correct.
Wellington and Aruvankadu
Families moving for postings or courses in Wellington should plan entry access before delivery. Cantonment and quarters areas have their own entry rules, so share your gate pass or entry details with us a day before delivery. Aruvankadu is close by and we usually club it with a Wellington or Coonoor drop.
Kotagiri
For a Kotagiri delivery, confirm the approach road for your exact property before dispatch. Many homes are on tea estate roads or private lanes. Gudalur, Masinagudi and nearby
Gudalur is on the western side, closer to the Kerala and Karnataka borders. It gets very heavy rain in the south-west monsoon (June to September), so we put additional protective covers over suitable packing going there. - April to June: Peak tourist season. Ghat roads and Ooty town get very crowded, especially on weekends. We try to book weekday slots and reach early.
- June to September: South-west monsoon. Gudalur and the western side get heavy rain. Extra waterproof packing is a must.
- October to December: North-east monsoon. Heavy spells sometimes cause landslips on the Coonoor ghat and traffic gets diverted. We keep a day of buffer in the plan during these months.

Small things that help once your goods reach the hills
- Wait before switching on electronics. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions after transport. Let electronics reach room conditions and dry fully before use.
- Fridge should stand for a while. After unloading, let the refrigerator stand upright for the time specified by its manufacturer before starting it.
- Don't push wooden furniture against outer walls. Hill houses get damp walls in the rainy months. Leave a small gap so fungus doesn't form on the back of wardrobes and almirahs.
